A seasoned and well-travelled expert, he stands out as a recognized and awarded professional who has held diverse leadership positions across various business domains. Some of his notable awards include being honored among “The 50 Most Talented Retail Professionals of India” and securing a place as one of the “100 Most Influential Retail Leaders in Asia, Africa & GCC.”

With a background in engineering and a PGD in Management, Mr. Kalkar currently serves as the Whole Time Director & President – Malls at The Phoenix Mills Ltd. In this pivotal role, he oversees the retail business, directing the strategic vision and development of large retail and mall management companies. His proficiency lies in effective P&L management, steering businesses towards success.

Leading the charge for the retail business, Mr. Kalkar holds a key position in the ongoing expansion initiatives, managing corporate responsibilities for all operational malls. This involves intricate tasks such as operations and expense management, compliance oversight, and negotiation and closure of critical deals.

In his illustrious career, Mr. Kalkar has made significant contributions to the Retail Real Estate sector, serving as the Head of Mall Management at DLF and Kshitij CapitaLand. His impactful journey in the Retail Business includes pioneering the Hypermarket Division for (erstwhile) Adani Retail Ltd, Ahmedabad. Notably, he was instrumental in establishing India’s first big box Hypermarket at HyperCITY, Malad, Mumbai.

Before venturing into the retail industry, Mr. Kalkar made valuable contributions to the realms of F&B, Steel exports, and Engineering Sales and Marketing. His diverse experiences span roles with major Indian and International Groups, showcasing his versatility and proficiency in various capacities.
